Types of Totem Animals There are four basic types of totem animals: 1. A Life-Long Animal Totem will work with your throughout your life or until you no longer need them. It is always there when you need its powers. IT always reminding you of your power and connectivity. This animal generally reflects your inner spiritual nature. Many refer to this animal as your Spirit Totem. 2. A Journey Animal
Totem is an animal that guides you for a finite period of time,
could be days or even years. It will be with you the entire time
it takes you to complete the path it is guiding you on. 3. A Message Animal Totem usually just pops up to give you a message regarding self-growth or spirituality or maybe even a cautionary warning. Consider it a wake up call. It will usually be a very unusual experience making it very powerful at that time and very impartial. 4. A Shadow Animal Totem has great power for us but will put us through tests before they will let their power work with and for us, instead of against us. The Shadow Totem often represents inner fears that you must overcome. When you overcome the fear of the Shadow Animal Totem you bring it into the Light World as a Spirit animal totem and they become one of your most powerful Animal Totems.
