The Five
of Swords signifies that the seeker faces a chance of defeat if
he or she does not work within the confines of a situation instead
of trying to force his or her will on the situation. It also signifies
hostility. This card can also represent a need to put your own interests
first if you are being taken advantage of.
An empty
victory is at hand. You win, but was it worth the effort? Was it
what you wanted? Was deceit part of your victory? This card reflects
a confrontation that brings pain to both parties. Sabotage or treachery.
This card
also represents accepting limits and acknowledging errors in judgment.
Dishonor and destruction brought about by lack of self-control.
Being shown your weaknesses. Constructive criticism. A valuable
lesson.
It can
also represent an escape from danger of a freeing of bonds.
Reverse
- A destructive, angry person meddling in one's affairs. Malicious
gossip. Sabotage. A need to watch out for the welfare for friends.
A burial. Uncertain outlook. Weakness. Seduction. Possible misfortune
befalling a friend.
