Temperance represents harmony and balance, moderation and self-control. Temperance can represent a need for moderation, especially when extreme cards are present (such as the Knights). In a situation with conflict, Temperance suggests that finding a middle-ground may be the answer. Moderation in all things. It is also about coming to appreciate of what we are and what we have learned. This card usually shows a woman or angel with one foot in the water and one on the earth. This represents a link between the consciousness and unconscious, the spiritual and mundane. Fun fact: The word Temperance comes form the Latin word temperare which means to mix or combine properly. Reversed - Too introspective. Stuck in the past. Living an unbalanced lifestyle. Rigidity stifles the imagination. Discord. Conflict of interest.
