A Day in the Life of the High Priestess

Many people think that attaining the title of Hps brings glory and status. Quite the contrary, it brings a lot of hard work and more often, very little thanks. Much of the work is done behind the scenes, and into the wee hours. So, what exactly does an Hps do? Here, is an average day....

7 am: up
7:15: first cup of coffee, caution, do not approach...not safe yet
7:30: second or third cup of coffee. It is now safe to approach the HPs, in theory. Get demon spawn up.
8:20: Demon spawn sent off to demon spawn school, Finish coffee
8:30: get more coffee, boot up computer and deal with first crisis of the day. answer emails. Continue to supply coffee, throw in laundry. get dressed
11:30: pick up other small demon spawn not belonging to self at school.
11:40: feed small demon spawn and find something to entertain small demon spawn while HPs finishes working on computer. tv seems to work well as a hypnotic device for this type of critter, they especially like cartoons. complete answering emails, typing lessons, preparing lesson plan. if working on ritual, begin researching and writing outline 6 weeks in advance. Line up ritual team and arrange for rehearsals. Select music and arrange to get cd burned, book Kerrywood and arrange to get checks signed. arrange to pay Kerrywood. medicate evil demon spawn in form of innocent looking kitty, would rather medicate a cougar...bless the vet under my breath...and bless the cat of course...let other demon spawn disguised in form of inoffensive friendly dog in and out as needed
12 noon: remember to turn phone on, pick up mail and deal with what needs to be done, get back on puter answering mails, lessons and all that jazz. MORE COFFEE!
1:00: make phone calls, return morning messages, try to find volunteers if needed for whatever projects are on the go. remember to make a list of concerns and followups for upcoming meetings
3:10: get off the puter, go pick up other small demon spawn not belonging to self
3:15: do banking for association, mailing, and any other errands required
4:00: return home, referee between demon spawn. return any phone calls, council member/student who has dropped in, having crisis.
5:00: begin preparing supper for demon spawn, and breakfast, lunch and supper for self while supper is cooking go and watch Law and Order for one hour for a rest
5:01: begin returning long distance calls. touch base with thirds
5:30: actually sit down and eat supper
6:00: rather than fight with demon spawn, do dishes myself, give up use of puter to large demon spawn. coerce him into updating the website. sit down with him and guide him step by step. throw up hands in exasperation, as demon spawn is all wise and all knowing puter demigod, and I know nothing. give him a list instead, stomp out in frustration. do paperwork by hand instead. revamp bylaws, fill out receipts, make notes of gotta do's to self, work on ritual/newsletter articles, return more phone calls.
7pm: teach classes Tues, Thurs and Fri
10:00: begin nagging evil demon spawns that it is bed time for evil demon spawns, most necessary that they get the right amount of rest so they can maintain optimal levels of evilness
10:30: threaten lives of demon spawn and really really mean it this time.
11:00: demon spawns successfully captured and forcibly restrained in respective beds, duct tape IS the witches friend...get back on puter, answer more emails, work on lessons, check PAR website, and email. answer those emails, go to Godcoa, address those emails, work on ritual, work on Godcoa church status project preparing liturgical docs for govt. did someone say that puters were going to make our lives easier??? Memo to self to locate such person and blast them to ashes... 2:00 am: medicate cougar again, bless vet and cougar...bandage wounds as needed 3:am next day: finish working on puter. throw laundry in dryer. go to bed, read/research for 20 minutes or if really interesting, until 4 am 4:00 am: set alarm and go to sleep!!! 7:00 am: up....
Sat: sleep
Sun: sleep some more
...and that is the life of the high chick!
