Stone: Obsidian

Associated Element: Fire

forms an opaque black or sometimes greenish stone. It is a powerful

grounding and centering, and helps to bring its user "down
to earth". Snowflake obsidian is black with small crystals
that form within the stone, producing white "snowflake"
patterns. It is helpful for healing problems with skin, bones, hair,
nails and digestion. Obsidian is found throughout the world where

Stone: Opal
Color: Varied
Associated Element: All
Energy: All
Magickal Powers/Uses: Opal is an interesting and beautiful
stone known for its "opalescence" or constant variation
in color and transparency. It is said that opals contain the attributes
and colors of all other stones and they can be charged with all
the qualities necessary for any magickal working. Opals specifically
facilitate psychism, beauty, luck, money, and love. The old superstition
that opals are the bringers of misfortune is simply not founded.
They foster increased emotion and dramatic qualities. They were
prized by Aborigines of Australia, Native Americans, and the people
of India. Surprisingly, opals have quite a high water content and
should never be exposed to chemicals, high heat, strong impact,
or dramatic changes in temperature or air pressure. Opals are found
in the Czech Republic, Mexico, England, Australia, and the United
States.
