Stone: Labradorite
Color: Blue/Rainbow
Associated Element: Water
Energy: Receptive
Magickal Powers/Uses: Labradorite is a lovely blue stone which displays a quality called labradorescence, in which a rainbow of colorful lightwaves play across cleavage (breakage) planes within the stone. It is also called spectrolite, and the stone often called rainbow moonstone is actually labradorite. Labradorite can look dark or dull, but at the right angle, and with the right cut, it shows colors ranging from peacock blue to orange. A mystical and spiritual stone, it is associated with the Moon and facilitates change and transformation. Labradorite has strong connections with the subconscious mind, allowing magickal and psychic abilities, intuition, and communication with other planes to fully develop. It promotes willpower, a deeper understanding of self, and stimulates mental processes. In healing, labradorite is helpful in treating metabolic, immune, and digestive disorders. It is found mainly in Canada and Scandinavian countries.

Stone: Lapis Lazuli
Color: Blue with white spots
Associated Element: Water
Energy: Receptive
Magickal Powers/Uses: Lapis Lazuli is a brilliant blue stone with a deep spiritual history. It can be distinguished from another blue stone, sodalite, by its bright blue color and it often includes flecks of pyrite. Lapis lazuli is also known as lazurite. It was a stone of royalty in ancient Sumer and Egypt, and the Sumerians believed that the stone carried the magickal power or soul of divinity itself. Lapis corresponds to the third eye chakra and is helpful with deep meditation, connecting with spirit guides, past life, dream, and aura work. It fosters deep psychic awareness and intuition and works to cleanse and clear negativity in the body and the mind. It is also used in India as an amulet of protection and courage. Lapis works to promote fidelity and strengthens bonds between lovers and friends. It facilitates healing of immune diseases, infections, fevers, insomnia, depression, PMS and other women's issues. Exceptional quality lapis has been mined from the same location in Afghanistan for more than 6,000 years, but it also occurs in Russia, Italy, Chile, and the United States.
