Hello
Everyone,
I
hope you are enjoying your visit to our site. Let me
introduce myself to you.
I
am an eclectic solitary Witch who mixes a little Celtic
with a little Hindu and a sprinkle of Egyptian in my
personal practice. I am a founding member of the FRED
Circle here in New York and a former member of the Coven
of the Black Wolf, Black Forest Clan.
I
live in New York with my husband and our two cats. I
make my living as a newspaper editor and am an aspiring
author. I also spend a good deal of my time doing Tarot,
oracle, rune and astrology readings and reports for
clients and businesses.
I
am active in the region's Wiccan and Pagan communities
and have a study group based in Westchester, N.Y. I
have also received my Level 2 Reiki certification.
Looking
back through my life, I find that the Craft was always
a part of it, I just didn't know it at the time.
Growing
up in farmland, nature and the cycle of seasons were
always prevalent. I always felt connected to nature
and would often go for a walk the woods when I needed
to get away or take an emotional break. That is still
true today.
As
soon as I was old enough to be trusted with matches,
I was always lighting candles of specific scents to
create certain moods. I grew up using herbal remedies
for everything from itchy skin to sore throats to sunburn.
I've
always had an infinity for astrology and tarot cards
and mythology of the gods and goddesses from many cultures.
I
gave up on organized religion when I was an early teen.
I was never much of a churchgoer and I was turned off
by the fact that so much of the violence in the world
could be traced back to groups of people believing that
their god is the one true god. I refused to believe
that any one god is the right god and everyone else
is wrong. So I sort of made up my own beliefs and went
on my merry way.
Then
one day, Maera, a very dear college friend of mine,
invited me to attend a Wiccan ritual with the Ladies
of the Mist. Afterward, Lady Phoenix MoonFlame explained
exactly what it is that we had just done and what it
all meant.
The
light went on. This was it. This is what I was searching
for! I picked up a book and ran with it. Instantly,
everything made sense. It felt like I was doing it all
my life.
Maera
keeps saying I am a natural witch. Maybe that is so.
Maybe some of us are predestined to follow a certain
path. I don't know.
But
I do know that Wicca has become more than a religion
-- it is who I am.
Thank
you for joining me on this journey!
